Unless you have a concern about a specific and unnatural contaminant in your water (for example, leakage of sheep dip) then the following standard tests will indicate whether your water meets current purity standards.

In the case of the chemical analysis a mortgage lender will normally insist upon seeing the full analysis. You may, however, specify a reduced range of tests for individual parameters such as nitrates or lead etc.

Drinking water analysis With Chave & Jackson you can send a water sample for chemical analysis, bacteriological analysis, nitrate estimation, lead estimation, copper estimation and hardness estimation.

Pure water consists of no more than hydrogen and oxygen (H2O) but this 100% purity would be very hard to find in any naturally occurring source of water.

In practical terms drinking water will always be "contaminated" with a small number of harmless bacteria and numerous checmicals, some of which may even be regarded as beneficial to either its taste or its health giving properties.

  • Our analyses are carried out by UKAS accredited laboratories
  • Our reports are designed to be customer friendly and give a clear conclusion where possible.
  • We offer a range of other tests not listed on this site - please phone 01432 272 152 for details or email us
